Zukunftspreis Heimat 2024 from VR Bank RheinAhrEifel eG for the Tafel Koblenz e.V.

The “Tafel Koblenz e.V.” and the “Peace Museum Bridge at Remagen” have won the Heimat Future Award 2024 from VR Bank RheinAhrEifel eG, recognizing their outstanding social contributions. The award ceremony, held at Forum Polch and attended by around 420 guests, honored projects that enhance the Rhein, Ahr, Eifel, and Mosel regions. The “Koblenz Food Bank” was awarded first place for its efforts in distributing surplus food to those in need and creating social spaces for people to connect. The “Peace Museum Bridge at Remagen” was also recognized for its contribution to peace education.

Second place went to TV Kleeblatt at TUS Mayen, while the Andernach “Bäckermädchen” received third place. A special award in the “Economy” category was given to R+W Maschinenbau Remagen. Other projects were ranked in the top ten, including the ASV Karthause wrestling club and the Sen5 Karate Verein e.V.

Additionally, eleven special awards for inclusion were given to honor projects that excel in promoting the participation of all people. Among these were the Guesthouse in the Schlosspark of the Brothers of Mercy Saffig and the Löf Music Association with the project “This is what inclusion sounds like.” Each of these special awards was endowed with 1,000 euros.

The Heimat Future Award is given annually to promote positive changes in the region and will be open for applications again next year.
