It started with collecting groceries in private vehicles.
Tafel Koblenz now operates 11 distribution points, 5 in Koblenz, and one each in Urmitz, Bendorf, Vallendar and Lahnstein, as well as 1 fair dividers from Foodsharing and the Koblenz youth employment agency that we supply
Most of our expenses take place in the rooms of church and community institutions, which are made available to us free of charge.
Only one room has been rented for this purpose, which we use for three issue days in Koblenz city.
In addition, twice a week we deliver to people who cannot come to the Tafel and 12 social institutions.
More than 230 helpers are currently providing 1100 need communities with around 5,000 people in the region with food that would otherwise be destroyed.
There are 6 refrigerated vehicles on the road, which collect around 5 tons of food every day. Up to 1500 tons of food are saved from destruction every year, thereby protecting our climate in the long term.
The estimated value of the food given out is:
4 million € per year
The Tafel Koblenz has a dry, a cold store and a deep-freeze cell. She passes on a lot of goods to several neighboring panels.
In addition, the Tafel Koblenz, in cooperation with the Lions Club Rhein Mosel, supports the project:
“Power Box” (breakfast for schools)
With this we provide a daily breakfast for 90 children in a primary school in Koblenz-Wallersheim.
Our association is financed exclusively through the insignificant contributions of our 35 members, the obolus of our beneficiaries, and donations.
